Designated drivers get a free ride

To promote designated drivers, the Campus Safety Department has launched a twice-a-year $1,500 trip giveaway prize.  Above, the Taking Responsibility for Intoxicated Passengers (TRIP) program leader Special Constable Matt Lambe, left, and TravelCuts Manager LaWanda Wilson, right, present the first TRIP cheque to winner Kristen Read in mid-December.  The Commerce student entered her name while a designated driver with friends at Louis’.  The prize is sponsored by Global TV, SGI, TravelCuts, SaskTel, Mothers Against Drinking & Driving, Louis’ and the U of S Students’ Union.
