New lab named

The U of S Board of Governors recently approved the name ‘R.J.F. Smith Centre for Aquatic Ecology’ for the $750,000 fabric-covered year-round Biology lab built last spring behind the College of Veterinary Medicine.  Professor Smith was an internationally recognized U of S fish ecologist when he died in 1998.  The lab contains artificial ponds with above- and below-water video cameras to study fish behaviour.
