Saying no to missile defence

SIAST Woodland student Carolyn Carleton shows her fashion products catalogue to a visitor at ‘Venture Forward’, the U of S College of Commerce’s first-ever student entrepreneurship competition, co-sponsored with Global Infobrokers and RSVP Event Design on campus March 11-12. Created for Saskatchewan post-secondary students, it’s the biggest cash entrepreneurship contest in Canada, with $60,000 in support for the winning student projects. Kevin Bergeron and Tanis Black (U of S) won $25,000 from Cameco. Travis Wiens and Albert Jame (U of S) won $15,000 from PIC Investment Group. And Carleton won $10,000 from Wiegers Financial. Five $2,000 prizes were also awarded. Twenty-six student teams entered.
