U of S President Peter MacKinnon hosted an evening reception in Marquis Hall on Sept. 12 for more than 140 donors in the Saskatoon United Way’s Leadership Giving Program.

At the event, Alan Migneault, Volunteer Chair of the United Way Leadership Division, told MacKinnon and the gathered donors that the charity’s Leadership Giving Program “continues to be a vital part of building caring, vibrant communities.

“I’d like to personally thank you for the generosity you’ve shown towards the community. Your compassion has touched the lives of countless people – seniors seeking assistance to remain independent, victims of violence and abuse, the unemployed, at-risk youth and people with disabilities.”

Last year the U of S community raised $74,334 for the dozens of Saskatoon agencies funded through the United Way. Forty-five per cent of these funds came through the Leadership Giving Program.
