Campus Incidents

Selected incidents reported by the Department of Campus Safety. Report all information about these and other incidents to Campus Safety at 966-5555.
Feb. 1 – 7
- Officers issued the following tickets:
- 1 for failing to yield to a pedestrian at marked cross walk
- 1 for disobeying a traffic control device
- 1 for operating an unregistered motor vehicle
- 1 24-hour suspension
- 1 for being intoxicated in public
- Officers attended two medical calls.
- Officers attended one motor vehicle accident.
- Two thefts were reported from the Murray Library. Patrons had left items unattended in both instances.
- Two suspects were identified in a theft from Sask Hall. This file is still under investigation.
Feb. 8 – 15
- Officers issued the following tickets:
- 1 warning for failing to produce a driver’s license
- 1 for an inadequately equipped vehicle
- 4 for disobeying a traffic control device
- 1 for driving without a valid license
- 2 for operating unregistered vehicles
- 4 for speeding
- 2 for disobeying a stop sign
- 1 for failing to wear seat belt
- Three counts of mischief: two occurring in residences where an exit sign and a bulletin board were pulled down or removed, and one at a parking booth on campus where the perpetrators shot a parking booth with paintball pellets. There are no suspects in any of these incidents.
- A female individual was arrested for repeated thefts in the main library. Officers found the perpetrator committing a theft and placed her under arrest.
- Campus Safety placed an individual under arrest for outstanding warrants after having been located sleeping on campus. The suspect was handed over to Saskatoon Police Services to deal with the warrant.
Feb. 16-21
- Officers issued the following tickets:
- 2 for failing to wear seatbelt
- 1 for making a turn from the wrong lane
- 2 for speeding
- 1 for disobeying a stop sign
- 3 for having beverage alcohol in a motor vehicle
- 2 24-hour suspensions
- While on routine patrol, officers noticed skateboarders in the Stadium Parkade. This is an infraction under U of S regulations. Upon investigation, officers seized several small quantities of marijuana and some open liquor. Suspects were turned over to City police for processing.
- Officers investigated a theft from the Campus Computer Store of approximately $2000 worth of product.
- An electronic exit sign was stolen from Voyageur Place.
- After responding to a call of a drunk male in Souris Hall, officers arrested same for outstanding warrants.
- Two males were arrested for being intoxicated in public after an altercation outside Louis’.
