WCVM dean named

Freeman
Dr. Douglas Freeman, head of both Veterinary Diagnostic Service and Veterinary and Microbiological Sciences at North Dakota State University in Fargo, will be joining the U of S March 1 as dean of the Western College of Veterinary Medicine (WCVM).
Freeman, who will be the college’s sixth dean, replaces Dr. Charles Rhodes who has held the post since 2002 and who is retiring after 39 years with the WCVM.
Since his graduation from the University of Minnesota with a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree and a Master of Science degree in theriogenology, and a PhD in reproductive physiology from the University of Idaho, Freeman has acquired a broad range of experience, as a practitioner, an administrator of clinical and diagnostic services, a researcher and an academic department head. A past president of the American College of Theriogenologists, he is currently a member of the board for the Association of American Veterinary Medical Colleges.
