Having served the needs of medical and cancer-specific investigation since 1958, the Medical Research Building was reduced to rubble in December to make room for the E Wing of the Academic Health Sciences project. Completed at a cost of $783,000 and officially opened by Saskatchewan Premier T.C. Douglas, the building next to the College of Dentistry along College Ave. provided space for researchers and administrators. A third floor was added to the structure in 1966. In its place will rise E Wing which will house teaching theatres, the Clinical Learning Resource Centre and office space, all expected to be completed by 2013.
