iPad research for patient education earns award
A research project focusing on the use of iPads in a small rural Saskatchewan hospital has earned a College of Nursing faculty member and PhD student a $3,000 U of S Engaged Scholar Mobilization Graduate Student Catalyst Award.

Sandra Bassendowski and student Shauna Davies, based at the Regina Campus, received the award following the submission of a proposal highlighting their intent to prepare a co-authored article entitled iNurse, iTeach: Using Mobile Applications in Client Education. The paper is based on their recent research at the All Nations' Healing Hospital in Fort Qu'Appelle, Sask., where they provided 32 iPads as a patient education tool.'
