Student team recognized for Indigenous engagement project
The Enactus University of Saskatchewan team has been awarded the 2017 HSBC Indigenous Advancement Project Partnership Best Project award by Enactus Canada.
By University CommunicationsThe award presentation took place May 9 at the 2017 Enactus Canada National Exposition in Vancouver.
The team launched Food for the Future, an Indigenous community garden and youth education program that allows community members to grow healthy fruits and vegetables.
In 2016 the team travelled to Beauval, Sask. to build a community garden. This year, the Beauval Community Garden has expanded by adding five more raised garden beds and two high tunnel greenhouses, saving the community the need to order produce externally for three months.
