U of S community members featured in New York Times travel feature

Several University of Saskatchewan lecturers are featured in a New York Times article showcasing Saskatoon as one of 52 Places to Go in 2018.

Set at Wanuskewin Heritage Park, a correspondant from The New York Times spoke with several staff members and guides, including alumna Ashlyn George and faculty members Felicia Gay and Ernie Walker about Saskatoon as a tourism destination.

Walker, a professor of archaeology and anthropology who has worked with hundreds of U of S students at the field school located at the site, spoke about the attraction of Wanuskewin.

“Invariably, people have come up to the building and told us, ‘I just feel different when I’m walking the trails. There’s something special about this place.’”
