USask alumna Shelley Ann Marie Brown (BComm’78) was among the 39 recipients invested into the Order of Canada during a ceremony at Rideau Hall on Thursday, November 21.

Recognized as a community leader and respected for her exemplary dedication and lifelong commitment to both the accounting profession and the non-profit sector, Brown is current chair of the Usask Board of Governors and the Jim Pattison Children's Hospital Foundation. As a senior partner and board member at Deloitte Canada, she has inspired other women in the field through her transformative leadership.

Established in 1967, nearly 7,500 people from across the country have been named to the Order of Canada, which recognizes Canadians who have distinguished themselves in their fields or contributed to making Canada a better country.
