USask president delivers annual address

President Peter Stoicheff delivered his annual state of the university address to the General Academic Assembly (GAA), discussing COVID-19, the University of Saskatchewan and change.

Speaking about the current pandemic, Stoicheff acknowledged that the University of Saskatchewan, not unlike other universities, is at an extraordinary time in the history of post-secondary institutions.

"The COVID-19 pandemic has suddenly taken the world by storm. It has required us to change and respond in ways we would not have imagined more than a few weeks ago," said Stoicheff.

"The pandemic has required us to make fundamental changes to how we carry out our mission, but it has not thrown us off our mission. It has kept us apart; it has brought us together."
