At the Nov. 10 dinner celebrating the installation of Robert Thirsk as the chancellor of the University of Calgary, Grit McCreath, U of S board member, presented a pair of Cree moccasins as a gift on behalf of the U of S.
"They fit him perfectly and ended up being a bit of a highlight of the evening—he was thrilled," said McCreath.
Thrisk, a former Canadian Space Agency astronaut, took up his chancellor post on July 1, 2014.
