Multicultural honours
This past weekend, a graduate student received provincial honours for her contributions to Saskatoon's multicultural community.

Jebunnessa Chapola received the Betty Szuchewycz Award on Nov. 14, named by the Multicultural Council of Saskatchewan in recognition of its founding president.
A PhD student in women's, gender and sexualities studies, Chapola has hosted a weekly radio show, Banglar Gaan O Kotha, on community station CFCR since 2012. The program showcases Bengali culture, traditions and language. She is also active with the local Bangla and South Asian community in Saskatoon and serves as an executive member for the U of S Graduate Students' Association.
"My work focuses on building bridges among immigrant and Aboriginal communities," said Chapola. "I work for Bangla community to integrate them with wider community."
