The University of Saskatchewan invites media to attend the U of S Graduation Powwow

More than 1,000 children from schools across the province are anticipated to attend this year's Graduation Powwow. Hundreds of dancers, drummers and singers of all ages from across North America are expected to take part in competitions. For almost 20 years the U of S, proudly situated on Treaty 6 land, has hosted a powwow on campus.
Powwow schedule:
9-11 am: Teepee Teachings in children's area
10:45 am: Drum Roll Call
11 am: Honouring Grade 12 graduates
11 am-3 pm: Campus Expo (Vendor, artesian, sponsor booths)
Noon-3 pm: Youth competition, hand drum competition (youth and adult)
5 pm: Honouring U of S graduates
6-9 pm: Adult competition
The powwow will also be streamed live online at www.usask.ca.
