U of S hosts networking conference connecting students and professionals to help plan for a green Saskatoon
Media are invited to join the University of Saskatchewan's School of Environment and Sustainability, the City of Saskatoon and the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists for a conference titled Urban Transportation and Design: Getting Where We Need to Go.

The conference is divided into two panel sessions and followed by roundtable discussions to break down issues and come up with solutions. The attendee list includes elementary, high school and university students, planners, engineers, academics, and NGO and municipal representatives.

First speaker panel (8:45 - 10 am)

-Growing Forward! Shaping Saskatoon Plan, Allan Wallace, City of Saskatoon
-Lessons learned in urban design: Rhonda Toohey, City of Edmonton
Followed by question and answer period, networking and roundtable discussions
Second speaker panel (12:45 - 2 pm)
-Household transportation survey: Angela Gardiner, City of Saskatoon
-Approaches to encourage transportation-related behavior change: Bob Patrick,
U of S
-Energy and Greenhouse Gas Management Plan: Ian Loughran, City of Saskatoon
Followed by question and answer period, networking and roundtable discussions
Speakers will be available for interviews before and after the conference.
