Sunday, August 31: International Student Welcome
1:30-4:30pm, Arts 143, with a social to follow
Hosted by the International Student and Study Abroad Centre, the International Student Welcome is a chance for students who are new to Canada to learn about services for international students available at the U of S and about getting settled in Saskatoon.
Tuesday, September 2: Orientation
Orientation is the University of Saskatchewan's annual event to welcome the newest members of our community to campus. This high-energy, information packed day kicks off with a welcome address from Interim President and Vice-Chancellor Gordon Barnhart and USSU President Max Fineday. Students will join other members of their colleges to take part in a variety of activities in the Bowl and to participate in college information sessions, where they will get the chance to meet faculty and staff, learn more about their program options, and find out what their first year at university is going to be like.
8-9am: Check-in takes place in the Bowl
9-9:15am: Welcome addresses from Interim President and Vice-Chancellor Gordon Barnhart and University of Saskatchewan Students' Union President Max Fineday from Nobel Plaza
9:30-10:30am: "This is Me" motivational session in Education Gym
9:30am-1:30pm: Activities including a 100' obstacle course, games and activities such as "bumper balls", magicians and break-dancing demonstrations will be ongoing in the Bowl
1:15-4:30pm: College information sessions take place across campus
Wednesday, September 3: Aboriginal Student Welcome
4:30-6:30pm, Louis' Loft
Hosted by the Aboriginal Students' Centre, new and continuing First Nations, MÃ©tis and Inuit students, as well as Aboriginal staff and faculty, will gather in Louis' Loft to build connections and learn about services and programs available at the U of S for Aboriginal students.
Wednesday, September 3-Friday, September 5: USSU Welcome Week
Live music, DJs, food and beer gardens in the Bowl from 11am-5pm daily
Thursday, September 4: Car-less Drive-In
8pm, The Bowl
This year's double feature includes "Pitch Perfect" and U of S dramedy "Paper Airplanes".
Friday, September 5: U of S Alumni Association Pancake Breakfast
8-10am, The Bowl
Friday September 5: Alumni Association Huskies Homecoming Football Game
7 pm, Griffiths Stadium in PotashCorp Park
