University of Saskatchewan's College of Engineering and ICAM France sign agreement

The College of Engineering at the U of S and Institut Catholique d'Arts et Métiers (ICAM) France finalized an agreement in late March that allows U of S students to experience a French perspective on engineering.

By Jennifer Thoma
"This agreement enables the undergraduate and graduate students of both our institutions to benefit from a broader range of research projects and faculty knowledge," said College of Engineering Dean Georges Kipouros. "As well, it offers students the opportunity to experience life and work abroad."

The agreement includes the intent by both institutions to:

-facilitate the research work of undergraduate and graduate students

-develop collaborative academic and research programs in areas of mutual interest

-provide academic continuity and supervision to participating students

ICAM's six campuses in France are home to 4,000 engineering students, apprentices and trainees in masters and vocational training programs. The College of Engineering is home to about 1,700 undergraduate and 350 graduate students.

"Our college is looking forward to collaborating with ICAM and further developing the university's international academic partnership with France," Kipouros added. "We are happy to soon be welcoming international students to the Prairies, through our partnership with ICAM France."
