U of S addressing parking lot vandalism
A number of vehicles belonging to students and staff of the University of Saskatchewan were vandalized and looted overnight in parking lots near the student residences off of Cumberland Avenue.

This is the same lot in which vehicles were targeted this past winter. Suspicious activity in this area was reported by a resident a few weeks ago and as a result of this quick reporting an arrest was made. We ask community members to continue to report suspicious behavior as it can prevent or reduce the impact of crime.
The university is aware of the students' concerns about crime and safety in this area and we are working with our Parking Services, Protective Services and Facilities Management units, as well as with the Saskatoon Police Service to implement improved safety measures in this area. This includes the installation of new cameras and lighting improvements, as well as increasing the number of patrols in this area until upgrades have been completed.
We are also examining ways in which to help alleviate some of the costs incurred by students and staff affected by this incident. The university is always working to improve safety on campus and we regret when any members of our community are affected by criminal activity.
