Canada's top health experts converge on U of S

SASKATOON - The University of Saskatchewan (U of S) invites media to attend the 2016 Health Innovation and Public Policy Conference:

Wednesday, March 16
1:35 - 4:30 pm
Leslie and Irene Dubé Theatre
Room E1150, Health Sciences Building
107 Wiggins Road, University of Saskatchewan

Students in the university's health science colleges and schools have planned the conference, now in its third year, to help inspire creative thinking and innovation within the health system. This year's theme is The Future of Healthcare: Paving the Way for a Healthy Society.

Keynote speakers include Dr. Cindy Forbes, president of the Canadian Medical Association, and Dr. Danielle Martin, vice-president at Women's College Hospital and founder of Canadian Doctors for Medicare. Discussions will include a new health accord and vision for Canadian health care, drug development, scaling up innovation, and care for the homeless and vulnerably housed.

Registration for the conference is free and open to all health-care providers, members of the campus community and the public. Videoconferencing is available to those in Île-à-la-Crosse, La Ronge, Regina and Yorkton.
