ITEP to host Indigenous education conference

SASKATOON - Media are invited to attend a news conference to announce details of the upcoming Indigenous education conference hosted by the University of Saskatchewan's (U of S) Indian Teacher Education Program (ITEP). This year's theme is Inspiring change through Indigenous education practices and knowledges.

Friday's event will feature an announcement of the Indigenous guest speakers, Traditional Knowledge Keepers and session information on this year's Think Indigenous Education Conference, which will be held March 16-18 in Saskatoon. This is the second year the conference has been held in Saskatoon on Treaty 6 Territory. This year's event will feature internationally acclaimed experts in the areas of Indigenous rights, child welfare, cultural competency development, institutional change, environmental protection and using ancestral knowledge to create sustainable and ethical alternatives for the modern world.
