Today at U of S Spring Convocation
SASKATOON - The University of Saskatchewan (U of S) invites members of the media to attend today's Spring Convocation ceremony:
Monday, May 30, 2 pm
TCU Place
35 22nd Street East
Saskatoon
Monday, May 30—2 pm
Graduating: Colleges of Agriculture and Bioresources, Engineering
Honorary Doctor of Laws: Rajat M. Nag
He went on to manage billion-dollar portfolios and work with thousands of people, but Rajat M. Nag fondly remembers the University of Saskatchewan playing a pivotal role in his early development as an international banking leader. Originally from Delhi, India, Nag earned two graduate degrees during his time at the U of S, before beginning his career as an economist with the Bank of Canada and later serving as managing director general of the Asian Development Bank.
Student story of interest: Kyle Bonilla
Born and raised in Saskatoon, the 23-year-old engineering student was a member of the heralded University of Saskatchewan Space Design Team (USST) that designed and built the Mars rover that finished first in the European Rover Challenge in Poland on Sept. 6. The 25-member team, made up of students in engineering, business, arts and science, also placed seventh in the University Rover Challenge in Utah earlier in the year. Bonilla is graduating with a Bachelor of Science in Engineering (computer engineering) this afternoon and is available for interviews at the convocation ceremony.
