Nassers match donations to U of S students

SASKATOON – Members of the media are invited to the University of Saskatchewan (U of S) One Day for Students campaign on March 9, 2017.

One Day for Students asks the university community, alumni, donors and friends to make a special donation to enhance the U of S experience for our over 20,000 students.

Professor Emeritus Kay Nasser and his wife Dora are matching every dollar donated to the President’s Student Experience Fund and to the Nasser Family Emergency Student Trust that day, up to a maximum of $40,000.

Nasser, Debra Pozega Osburn, vice-president of University Relations, and a number of students supported by the One Day for Students campaign are available for interviews with media at noon, following Nasser’s keynote address at 11 am.

Donations to the President's Student Experience Fund have helped students host conferences, participate in international competitions and apply their learning outside the classroom. The Nasser Family Emergency Student Trust was established by Kay and Dora Nasser to support students who experience unforeseeable or unique financial hardship to allow them to continue their studies at the U of S.

More information on the fundraising campaign is available here.
