White Coat Ceremony momentous occasion for U of S dentistry students

SASKATOON - The University of Saskatchewan's (U of S) College of Dentistry will celebrate 28 second-year students in their progression to the dentistry profession during the annual White Coat Ceremony this week.

Members of the media are invited to attend the ceremony, which marks a students’ transition from the simulation lab to patient care and clinical treatment:

Dr. Gerry Uswak, dean of the College of Dentistry, will host the ceremony during which each student will be given a crested white lab coat provided by the College of Dental Surgeons of Saskatchewan. Alumnus Dr. Michael Lypka, DMD’ 00, will give the keynote address. 

The ceremony features processional music by the Saskatoon String Ensemble, and a special musical interlude performed by Saskatoon dentist and musician Dr. Carman Rabuka (DMD’ 07). A reception at the University Club follows the ceremony.
