MEDIA ADVISORY: Métis and Anishinaabe artists creating tunnel mural to tell Indigenous history at the U of S
SASKATOON – Two well-known Indigenous artists will be painting a mural that celebrates Indigenous Peoples at the University of Saskatchewan (U of S).
Métis artist Christi Belcourt and Anishinaabe artist Isaac Murdock,will begin the mural project that will stretch from the tunnel that connects the Gordon Oakes Red Bear Student Centre to the Health Sciences buildings. Once complete, the mural is intended to remember and honour Indigenous peoples through time, on the land where the U of S resides.
