Preston Avenue will be partly closed for approximately two weeks

Starting Monday, June 25, Preston Avenue – between 14th Street and College Drive – will be closed for construction. The closure is scheduled for approximately 15 days and is required to create access to the new Merlis Belsher Place. This timeframe is weather permitting and barring unforeseen issues. For safety reasons, there will be no access to sidewalks or bike paths while this project is underway.

Message boards are now in place to advise drivers of the coming closure and signage will stay in place for the duration of construction to provide advance warning at key junctures.

The Saskatoon Field House and Stadium Parkade will remain fully operational throughout construction, and continue to offer all programming and services. Access is provided off College Drive at Stadium Crescent.

Merlis Belsher Place is a university and community facility that will offer two ice surfaces and a double basketball practice gymnasium.  It will be the new home to Huskies hockey, Campus Rec hockey and an exciting new venue for Saskatoon Minor Hockey, among many other users. This is an exciting milestone for this project, and the University of Saskatchewan is grateful for the public’s patience during this time.
