Merlis Belsher, an accomplished accountant, lawyer, entrepreneur and philanthropist, and Agnes Herzberg, a noted Canadian statistician and U of S grad, will receive honorary degrees today.

DETAILED CEREMONY INFORMATION
CEREMONY 5: Wednesday, June 6, 9 am—Interviews at noon
The academic procession begins at 8:45 am, speeches at 9 am and graduates start walking across the stage at 10 am. Media interviews begin at noon behind the stage.
Graduating: Edwards School of Business, and Law.

CEREMONY 6: Wednesday, June 6, 2 pm—Interviews at 5 pm
The academic procession begins at 1:45 pm, speeches are at 2 pm, and graduates start walking across the stage at 3 pm. Media interviews begin at 5 pm behind the stage.
Graduating: Agriculture and Bioresources.
Honorary Doctor of Laws: Agnes Herzbergresearches the statistical design of experiments, including contributions to the design of clinical trials in medicine. (Herzberg is available by telephone for interviews)
Governor General Gold Medal: Jamie Willems—this medal recognizes academic excellence at the graduate level. Her thesis research, titled “Development of Authenticity Methods for Apple and Pear Juices”, focused on detecting and preventing food fraud.
