U of S hosts young Indigenous athletes

SASKATOON – Members of the media are invited to attend the second––in a series of training sessions––for the new Indigenous youth athlete program hosted by the College of Kinesiology and Huskie Athletics at the University of Saskatchewan.

Through a variety of opportunities on March 17, Indigenous athletes will have the chance to once again connect with Huskie coaches and athletes, as well as the personal trainers and fitness experts.
 
Close to 70 young athletes ages 10-14 have been recruited by the Saskatoon Tribal Council (STC) to participate in the Youth Leadership Through Sports Program, a partnership with the U of S that provides an assortment of sports testing and guidance from Huskie athletes on what it takes to become an top athlete.
