USask recognizes National Day for Truth and Reconciliation

SASKATOON – During the week of Sept. 27, the University of Saskatchewan (USask) will recognize the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation with a series of events supporting efforts to raise awareness, and encourage reflection and education acknowledging the tragic history and ongoing legacy of residential schools.

Members of the media are invited to attend an event on Sept. 27, illuminating the Saskatoon campus in orange lights in recognition of Truth and Reconciliation. The event will also be livestreamed with remarks from USask President Peter Stoicheff and Elders Florence Highway and Evelyn Linklater.

Location: Gordon Oakes Red Bear Student Centre, USask Saskatoon campus

Additionally, throughout the week, the Truth and Reconciliation Commission’s 94 Calls to Action will be projected onto the Peter McKinnon Building, Thorvaldson Building, and the Murray Library Building on the Saskatoon campus.
