New VIDO vaccine manufacturing facility complete at USask

SASKATOON – Construction is complete of the Vaccine and Infectious Disease Organization’s (VIDO) new manufacturing facility, the Vaccine Development Centre, on the University of Saskatchewan (USask) campus.

Media are invited to join the Honourable Daniel Vandal, Minister for PrairiesCan; the Honourable Scott Moe, Premier of Saskatchewan; USask President Peter Stoicheff; and VIDO Director and CEO Volker Gerdts in celebrating the completion of the Vaccine Development Centre.

Times (CST):

  • Tour media check in: 12:15-12:30 pm (VIDO main entrance)
  • Tour/photo availability of federal government officials: 12:45-1:20 pm
  • Press conference media check in: 12:45-1:15 pm (VIDO main entrance)
  • Press conference: 1:30 pm

There will be media interview opportunities directly following the press conference.

Please note: All campus visitors are expected to follow the USask COVID-19 health and safety guidelines, and will be required to wear approved masks in indoor spaces.  If you are experiencing any COVID-19 symptoms or if you feel unwell, please do not attend.
