USask rural health centre announces two distinct milestones: a new name, and a ‘transformative’ $1.5 million gift to develop a mobile unit for rural health and wellness

SASKATOON – Representatives from the University of Saskatchewan (USask) will be making a major gift announcement at the name change celebration and open house for the Canadian Centre for Rural and Agricultural Health (CCRAH).

This announcement will lead to substantial expansions in the centre’s rural programming, services, knowledge mobilization, and research capability, which has greatly evolved since its formation in 1986.

The centre’s new name more closely reflects its tremendous work for Canadian rural and agricultural people. The event provides an opportunity to celebrate its new name, which came into effect June 1, 2023. The CCRAH’s mandate is “to conduct and stimulate research, education, service and health promotion programs aimed at enhancing the health and well-being of agricultural and rural populations.”

Members of the media are cordially invited to attend the CCRAH name change celebration and the major gift announcement.
