Setting the scene for a spooky time at USask’s Diefenbaker Canada Centre

SASKATOON – With over a century of rich history, the University of Saskatchewan (USask) is renowned for its stunning architecture, world-class research, and exceptional academic excellence.

But behind the many tree-lined paths is where history haunts – or so the stories say.

Each October, the Diefenbaker Canada Centre (DCC) invites the curious to uncover the spooky tales during its annual Ghost Tour – a 90-minute, night-time walking experience that explores more than 15 eerie locations across the USask campus.

Many of the stories shared are based on well-known USask legends, such as the Murray Library’s first librarian, who is particularly unkind to those with overdue books. Over the years, attempts have been made to prove these stories false; but when it comes to ghosts, can anyone really be sure?

"This is one of our most popular events and the staff looks forward to hosting the tour every year," said Kirsten Falzarano, program and outreach co-ordinator for the DCC. "Despite being an annual event, the tour continues to improve each year with our enthusiastic participants adding spooky details from their own personal encounters."

Ghost Tours run nightly from Thursday, October 24 through Friday, November 1. Come dressed in your Halloween best and and be ready for some unearthly fun as you experience the USask campus like never before.

Purchase your tickets by visiting the DCC website.
